Silvia G. Priori, M.D., Ph.D. is full professor of Cardiology in the Department of Molecular Medicine at the University of Pavia and director of the Cardiology Division at the Istituti Clinici Scientific Maugeri in Pavia (Italy) and a director of the Molecular Cardiology Laboratories at the Centro National de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares Carlos III in Madrid (Spain). Dr. Priori served as a professor of medicine and funded and directed the Cardiovascular Genetics Program at New York University until 2016. Dr. Priori has served as president of the European Heart Rhythm Association and has been a board member on the European Society of Cardiology and on the European Heart Rhythm Association. Dr. Priori has received numerous prestigious honors and awards from scientific societies around the world, including the Distinguished Scientist Award of the Heart Rhythm Society, the Outstanding Research in Pediatric Cardiology award of the American Heart Association and the Harvey Lecture for Basic Science of the European Society of Cardiology. Dr. Priori is the recipient of an ongoing Advanced ERC grant of the European Community. Dr. Priori earned her M.D. in Cardiology and her Ph.D. in Cardiac Pathophysiology at the University of Milan and participated in a second post-doctoral training in Molecular Biology at the Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine.
