Ed Mathers is a partner at New Enterprise Associates (NEA), where he has invested in multiple companies with successful exits including Lumena (acquired by Shire), Ziarco (acquired by Novartis), Motus Therapeutics (acquired by Allergan), Amplyx (acquired by Pfizer), Inversago (acquired by Novo), Akouos (acquired by Lilly), Ra Pharma (acquired by UCB), and Plexxikon (acquired by Daiichi Sankyo), in addition to other private and public companies. Mr. Mathers serves on the board of directors of Trevi Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRVI), Inozyme Pharma, Inc. (NASDAQ: INZY), Synlogic, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYBX), Senti Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNTI) and MBX Biosciences (NASDAQ: MBX).

Prior to joining NEA, Mr. Mathers previously served as Executive Vice President, Corporate Development and Venture at MedImmune, Inc., and led its venture capital subsidiary, MedImmune Ventures, Inc. Before joining MedImmune, Mr. Mathers was Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Licensing and Acquisitions at Inhale Therapeutic Systems. Previously, Mr. Mathers spent 15 years at Glaxo Wellcome, Inc. (GlaxoSmithKline). Mr. Mathers received a BS in Chemistry from North Carolina State University.
